The Official Gazette of Extremadura has published last Friday the call for the subsidies program for energy renovations in existing homes for 2021, with a value of 3,884,920 euros.
This program aims to achieve the environmental and energy objectives established in the new EU regulations, by carrying out actions to reform existing homes that favour the reduction of final energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions through energy savings, improved energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies.
Therefore, the aim is to mobilize investments in the comprehensive and profitable renovation of residential buildings and dwellings, to improve the energy performance of the property stock and reduce its energy consumption.
The program also seeks to achieve an efficient and minimum (zero or almost zero) consumption to achieve the goal of decarbonizing the park built before 2050, fighting environmental pollution and fighting energy poverty. In addition, the construction and energy rehabilitation sector is promoted and energized.
These objectives are intended to be achieved by subsidizing actions to improve the energy efficiency of the thermal envelope (façade, roofs and windows), thermal or lighting installations.
ACTIONS AND AID
This program will finance technical solutions that involve energy and water-saving and efficiency measures through actions such as aerothermal installations; improvement of the insulation in the thermal envelope; installation of a biomass boiler for centralized heating; installation of solar thermal energy for sanitary hot water, heating and cooling; systems of control and regulation of equipment and/or installations that save energy, elements that allow remote control or automatic control by digital means; consumption monitoring and home automation systems in homes; substitution of conventional energy for geothermal energy; renovation of light points and regulation, control, remote management and monitoring systems of the facilities.
The amount of aid will be 35% for actions in the whole buildings, except in the case of energy efficiency improvements in lighting installations in which the aid will be 15 per cent. If rehabilitation is chosen in individual dwellings within buildings, it will be 25 per cent, while in individual premises, 15 per cent will be financed. There will be additional amounts if social or energy efficiency criteria and the comprehensive nature of the actions are met.
The grants can be requested after publication in the Official Gazette until July 31, 2021; through the electronic means: http://sede.gobex.es/SEDE/. The maximum term to carry out the actions that are the object of the aid will be 18 months from the date of notification of the resolution of the granting of the subsidy.
Regarding the requirements, all the actions must make it possible to improve the energy rating of the property to be rehabilitated by at least one letter measured on the CO2 emissions scale; and each action must achieve a minimum reduction of 10% in final energy consumption. According to the property’s cadastral data, the buildings must be before 2007, and actions consisting of extensions or changes of use will not be eligible.
Individual citizens, public and local entities, homeowners communities, SMEs, freelancers, large companies, energy service companies, energy communities, or tenants can benefit.
